Hi, I’m Ginger Ragaishis! I’m currently a transfer student at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where I’m working toward my BFA in Drama. After receiving a full scholarship to the University of Alabama and completing my freshman year there, I made the decision to follow my artistic path in New York.
In August 2025, I was crowned Miss New York’s Teen USA and will represent New York at the Miss Teen USA competition.
Previously, in 2023, I held the title of Miss Vermont’s Teen and advanced as a semifinalist at Miss America’s Teen.
I am believed to be the first Teen delegate to win Teen titles in two different states across different pageant systems (Vermont and New York) — a distinction not widely documented online but one that reflects earning state Teen crowns in two states.
Beyond pageantry, I model as a Jovani IT Girl in New York City.
My ultimate goal is to build a career in theatre and television, and one of my dreams is to one day compete on Dancing with the Stars as a celebrity.
When I’m not rehearsing or shooting, I’m usually listening to classic rock (I even named my dog after Ozzy Osbourne). I’m the youngest of three siblings, and my two older brothers have navigated life with hidden disabilities — their resilience inspires me every day.

When I tell people my working memory is compromised, I often hear, “So you’re just forgetful?” That’s not it at all. I perform on stage without missing a line and have vivid childhood memories—even with this invisible challenge. It’s hard to explain, but here's how I think of it: working memory is like a sticky note in your brain—not just for short-term use, but for organizing thoughts into places that make sense long term. When it doesn't work consistently, ideas become jumbled—or disappear before you've had a chance to store them. Classroom life becomes a high-wire act.
Since receiving my IEP (Individualized Education Program), I’ve learned that a learning disability isn’t a glitch to be fixed. It’s something lived with. And contrary to popular belief, an IEP doesn’t mean I’m not capable—it means I approach life differently. I've built resilience because managing my learning disability means navigating everyday challenges others never notice.

Defying Limits is more than a nonprofit—it's a community that shatters invisible barriers. I founded it because I know what it's like to feel overlooked in school. But here’s the truth: IEP students are not “less than.” With the right supports, strategies, and people in your corner, you can thrive—maybe even more so because of the hurdles you've overcome.
My mission is simple: help others see themselves not through the lens of their limitations—but through their potential. That vision drove me to write my children's book, Student of the Month, where being different becomes a superpower, not a setback.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more or less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English.
Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text.

I want every student who has ever felt “othered” because of an IEP to know this:
“You will never outperform the way you see yourself.”
So today, let's shift the narrative. Let’s rewrite what it means to be “different”—from a label of limitation to a mark of strength. It won't be easy, but it’s possible. And every day that you show up is a step toward rewriting the story.

(And in case you’re wondering—“Ragaishis” rhymes with TENACIOUS.)
